Besides large rooster earthenware and the tasty flat noodles menus – the two symbols of Yentafo Krueng Song by A. Mallika – that have attracted gastronomes at all ages from all over, Yentafo Krueng Song by A. Mallika is also recognized as a trending dining place. Under the management of A. Mallika Leelaphante, the noodles store chain has thrived quickly within 4 years. It now has a total of 20 branches around Bangkok and peripheral area. A. Mallika talks about the origin of Yentafo Krueng Song, that once a staff at A. Mallika’s Restaurant at Chang Wattana branch had asked her to help invest in a Yentafo store, trying to convince her that her Yentafo recipe was very delicious. A. Mallika then asked the staff to make the menu for everyone in the restaurant to taste. A. Mallika reckoned that the Yentafo was nice but not enough to make customers revisit. A. Mallika herself preferred rich-flavored noodles so she suggested the taste she liked. The recipe was improved until it became the unique recipeof A. Mallika. The first branch of Yentafo Krueng Song was opened in soi Ratchada Niwet at Meng Jai Intersection in 1999. It quickly became popular so A. Mallika expanded to the second and third stores at Num Choke Plaza on Chang Wattana Raod and Kasetsart University, replacing the A. Mallika’s Restaurant that was closed down earlier, respectively. Because of the convenient location, the Num Choke branch grew quickly, unlike the branches at Meng Jai and Kasetsart where they were less accessible for customers.

A. Mallika decided to relocate Kasetsart’s branch to Metro Shopping Mall at Pratunam, which again had to be closed down eventually due to the limited parking space and fees. A. Mallika did not give up nevertheless. She tried to create a distinctive style that would differentiate her store from others to best satisfy the customers. It soon after became the unique rooster earthenware, the flat noodles, and the red color that symbolizes Yentafo Krueng Song until present. A. Mallika’s Yentafo is reputed for the unique earthenware, specially ordered from the production source in the northern province of Lampang, in which Yentafo is served, as well as the bold flavor of Yentafo that is very much liked by people who prefer bold taste. Unlike other noodles store, A. Mallika serves Yentafo with flat noodles only.
